Two years ago I was invited to a bachelorette party out in Las Vegas. Right away I knew this was an opportunity to see more than just Sin City. My two girlfriends and I planned out a road trip from Las Vegas to Utah then to Arizona for more of a Scenic Adventure. Don’t get me wrong I love to party in a bikini but I wanted more out of this trip at the time. During this time I was going through a lot of personal battles and knew myself enough that I needed some therapy before I go on a binge weekend of partying. Lucky enough my two girlfriends were on the same page.

We mapped out everything for our trip so we had no worries and a timely realistic plan to enjoy ourselves. We booked our tickets to Las Vegas, flew in on a Monday. We arranged a rental car for our road trip so when we landed we got in our car and started to drive towards Utah. Remind you we landed at 10 pm and the roads were very dark, but on the good side there was no one on the road so our drive time was a lot shorter. We then arrived at our first hotel “Days Inn”. Yes, we stayed at “Days Inn” for our first night. There are not many hotels to choose from when you are out in the dessert. We got our rest and we were ready for our first Adventure.

The next day we drove to the Zion national Park, this was my favorite experience on the trip. Now if you have never been to Zion National Park a tip from me to you is to purchase the water shoes and walking stick they provide. Most of the hike and through water and at times can be rough and may be slippery. Purchasing the water shoes and walking stick was the best decision we made. Now when we went to Zion it was August and extremely crowded, so try and get there as early as possible. Also get there early to beat the afternoon heat.

I find hiking very therapeutic for myself and I normally choose these types of adventures when I am trying to calm my mind and find myself again. We live in a fast pace world, where everyone is comparing to and judging everyone, even if they don’t mean to. A trip like this with your girlfriends is good for your soul, you find appreciation for the friendships you have and the simple things in life that we constantly take for granted.

After our long hike through Zion, we then got food and started to head to the Days Inn, now this was not planned to go back there, we were searching for an Airbnb in the Area but nothing was available for the night. We slightly panicked but I then mentioned how cheap the Days Inn was and by that point we just wanted a bed. Let’s just say the Days Inn saved our lives this trip.

Our next day we packed the car, checked out and head to the Horseshoe Bend in Arizona. The drive was beautiful but I couldn’t wait to see upcoming views. Now I was very surprised to find out that the path to get to horseshoe bend was not really a hike, no difficulty at all, just a sanded path to the edge to look out. Now with that said you can only imagine how many tourists there were and how many people trying to take a photo of the same spot. I don’t really like crowds, I feel like it takes away from the experience, especially when you are sitting on the edge and someone with a camera bumps into you because they are dying to get the best shot, just makes you realize 1. I could have died. & 2. How social media has changed people for the worst. Now I love taking photos but people are diehard for that perfect "insta pic" and it shows.

Once our day trip was over it was time to head to Las Vegas. Even though Las Vegas was so much fun with all my girlfriends celebrating our Bride to be Kathleen, the Adventures through Zion National Park and the Lookout view at the Horseshoe bend will always be one of my top memories and an once in a lifetime experience. I recommend taking a road trip or planning a hiking trip with your girlfriends, because it clears your mind and puts you into perspective. We are just a small piece in this world, remember that.
